Bremen (Germany) – the city where I did my Bachelors degree. The place where I went to go shopping with friends when I was a teenage. These memories make me feel old. I never spent much attention to the history of Bremen or did proper sightseeing until I returned years later and showed the city to my parter. I almost felt like a tourist and to be fair, I probably behaved like one, walking from one attraction to the other, taking pictures and reading the info boards… Nevertheless, I quite like Bremen and can highly recommend it for a city trip.
The picture shows one of many lead windows of the St. Petrus Haus in the Böttcherstraße. The house itself was built in the 1920ies. Many houses in this street were severely damaged or destroyed during the second word war. Most building were restored and rebuilt in their original style and are heritage listed. If you ever go to Bremen and haven’t seen it, it’s worth it.
