I thought about something new – a picture of the week!! Most of us don’t like Monday mornings… The weekend is over and we need to get up early, get back to work, to school or just back to the normal weekday routine. Even if we love what we are doing sometimes it’s not easy. I’m pretty sure most of you will know what I am talking about. I’m planning to make Mondays just that tiny little bit nicer with posting a nice picture with a short story where it was taken. Easter Monday is unlikely to be the worst Monday for you throughout the year but it just happened to be the Monday for me to start the idea of the picture of the week.
Portugal is my favourite country. I’ve spent many holidays there and even lived and did voluntary work there for a couple of month.
This picture is taken in the botanical garden in Coimbra in February 2010. There the magnolia blossom a bit earlier than here in the UK.
The botanical garden was founded between 1772-1774 and has a huge park and several green houses with plants from all over the world. Worth visiting
Coimbra is a very old city with the oldest university in Portugal and many traditions. At some point I’ll probably dedicate a post to Coimbra, the botanical garden is just a small part.
