It’s January and it’s getting colder. The weather forecast is predicting temperatures just below 0°C for the next couple of nights but it’s unlikely that it will snow. Do I mind? Not really. I quite enjoy the fairly mild winters on the English South Coast. Summer and hot temperatures suit me more.
I know that some people will chuckle when I talk about cold temperatures being temperatures just below zero but we’re not in Scandinavia, Finland, Russia, Canada or similar. It’s just the UK South Coast.
This picture is a nice memory and was taken in my parents garden in Germany many years ago. Although the winters aren’t too cold there either, we used to have some snow and a few cold days every year. As a kid I enjoyed it but growing up less and less. Cold, wet, to much hassle to get to work, etc. Nevertheless, I still have this dream to go to Northern Scandinavia or Iceland and see the northern lights on a cold and clear winter’s night.
