The ‘obligatory’ Happy New Year! I’m not a big fan of significant dates and days but here we go – it’s 2016. Another year has begun and of course I wish you all the best, hope that you will be happy, healthy, achieve your targets and live you dreams but I do that every day and not just because a new year has started.
I you want to change something in your life or achieve something, simply get on with it and do it! You don’t need to wait until it is 1st of January again. If you ask me just an excuse to wait… If you are not convinced you want to do something or change something, simply wait until you’re sure you want to do it cause otherwise you’re likely to struggle. But enough – Happy New Year! May it bring whatever you wish for-
Something else that crossed my mind. Why is the 1st of January the start of a new year? I know that it takes about 365 days for the earth to go around the sun and that’s why our year has 365 days but why is it 1st of January? I couldn’t find an answer. I know that we use the Gregorian calender and that the Chinese Year is different but still – why? Do you know the answer? Please tell me.
I spent quite some time thinking about which picture to choose. Should I make a collage of my most favourite pictures of the year? Fireworks? A picture that symbolises something? At the end I chose a picture that is taken at one of my favourite places – Praia do Cabedelo (Figueira da Foz / Portugal). I spent many days there, sunbathing, swimming, body boarding, surfing and watching the sunset. I know that I want to go back. Will it be 2016? Maybe, I don’t know for sure yet. So much about my new year’s resolutions…
