Es Castell – a view of the minorcan city by night. This picture was taken about a year and a half ago during our holiday in Es Castell (Menorca). We had a wonderful time on this so special island and I’m glad to say that we’ll go back very soon 🙂 I’m so looking forward to it and am almost counting down the days.
Es Castell is a small city in the south-east of the island. To be honest it doesn’t really matter where you are as nothing is far on the island. We stayed in a lovely hotel (Hotel del Almirante) between Mao and Es Castell and often walked to Es Castell in the evenings. The city has a nice touch and a good selection of bars, restaurants and cafes. Our favourite was a rather small restaurant in one of the back roads. It didn’t appear to be special but it had the best steak ever! I hope it is still there and we’ll find it again because I’ve forgotten the name.
The city is rather quiet but full of history and atmosphere and nice to explore with a walk at day or night time with plenty of opportunities for refreshments.
