It had been a long day, driving all the way from Northern Germany to France. Bergues was our final destination for that day. The sun was starting to set as we were closing in, driving through Belgium. We were watching it and knew it would be an amazing sunset. My other half was driving and we started talking about how nice it would be to go to the beach, sit down and watch it. I had a quick look at the map and realised how close we actually were to the sea. I didn’t know about the beaches in Northern France but had read that the Belgium coast has amazing long and sandy beaches which made me hope for nice beaches in Northern France. Being only a few miles away from the French border, we looked for the first exit and town on the beach in France. Bray-Dunes…
I still don’t know anything about Bray-Dunes but I know that it was the perfect timing for an amazing sunset and magic moment with just the two of us. We timed it perfectly, sat down on the beach in each other’s arms and watched the sun disappear in the sea…
A bit later, we carry on to Bergues but with a lovely, romantic memory in our luggage.
