Week number 53… 2015 is coming to its end. A year with ups and downs, many good memories and nothing too bad happening. I was wondering whether I should do a special of some description and I decided not to. Simply because I don’t have any ideas what to do. So apart from the little bit of waffling that I’ve done now, it will be a normal, every Monday post.
I was not sure which picture to choose but decided to go with an picture that I took at Holly Hill Park earlier today. It’s the picture of a Grey Wagtail. Never having seen this bird before, I looked it up and was surprised about its name as it rather colourful than grey.
According to the RSPBs website the Grey Wagtail is an amber list species. They are common in most areas of the UK and spent their summers near fast flowing streams in the hills. In winter they can be seen around farmyards and lowland streams, even in city centres.
A low land stream – that’s exactly where we’ve found this colourful little beauty. A highlight on a rather grey winter day 🙂
